An illustrative example of how an observation appears in the report.

Stair-step crack in the plaster above the majlis window

A stair-step crack usually follows the blockwork mortar joints and may indicate movement in the wall or a weak window lintel. If left, it may widen and let moisture in, and it will reappear after painting.
Open up the plaster around the crack to check whether it has reached the blockwork, and check the window lintel. Then repair any crack in the blockwork, fix fibre mesh over the crack with enough overlap on both sides, and redo the plaster and paint.
Bathroom floor slope does not drain towards the floor drain
Water collects near the shower and at the bathroom door instead of flowing to the drain, and over time it seeps through the tile joints, causing damp in the adjacent wall and odours.
Measure the slopes with a level, then relay the tiles in the affected area sloping towards the drain, making sure the waterproofing underneath is intact before relaying, then test the drainage with water.
Electrical socket right next to the kitchen sink and exposed to water splashes
Water reaching the socket may cause a short circuit or an electric shock to anyone using the kitchen, so this observation is classed as a Safety Risk.
Move the socket away from the sink area or replace it with a weatherproof socket with a cover, make sure the kitchen circuit is protected by an earth leakage circuit breaker, then test the breaker.
Peeling paint and damp patches at the bottom of the garage wall
These indicate moisture reaching the wall from the ground or from outside. If left, it spreads upwards and damages the plaster and paint.
Identify the source of the moisture with a moisture meter and thermal camera and fix it first, then remove the damaged paint and plaster and redo them once the wall has dried.
