Stage 3: Waterproofing Works

Bathroom Waterproofing
Before Tiling

Bathroom waterproofing stops water leaking into the ceilings below and the walls around. Once tiled, you cannot see it, and a leak means breaking out. We take handover once, before it is covered.

What Is Bathroom Waterproofing?

Bathroom waterproofing is a layer applied to the bathroom floor and turned up the walls, before the screed and tiling. The bathroom waterproofing inspection is an engineering visit before covering, in which our engineers check that the waterproofing covers the floor and walls and is properly detailed around floor drains and pipes.

The inspection matters because most leaks in homes come from bathrooms, showing up as stains on the ceiling below or in adjacent walls. Repairing them after tiling means breaking up the floor and redoing the waterproofing and tiles.
